INFECTIOUS DISEASE: Antimicrobial Stewardship - Sharing Smartly
Dr. Marc Mazade will discuss the rise in antimicrobial resistance along with interventions to limit its expansion. 

Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss with patients, families, colleagues, and the media some reasons for diminishing antibiotic drug development and rising antimicrobial resistance.
  • Describe two outpatient conditions for which appropriate use of antibiotics by a committed network of practitioners can markedly reduce antibiotic pressure in the community.
  • Identify some interventions that may limit the expansion of antimicrobial resistance in the hospital setting.
