|Many children are identified with hearing loss after one year of age. The ANSD diagnosis may be missed. These children can be severely compromised in listening and spoken language development despite hearing aids fitted by prescriptive targets. |
The presentation provides overview of ANSD and its impact on the perception and development of spoken language, the child’s behavior and learning abilities. It will discuss techniques, strategies, conditions and procedures that promote optimal development of spoken language through listening with or without hearing technology.
