An Applied Program in Pediatric Hearing Aid Fitting -- Webstream

For those outside of DFW Area (> 50 miles from Fort Worth)  The unique needs of children with hearing loss will be highlighted in terms of their impact on the clinical practice of fitting hearing aids. Assessment considerations will be presented with a focus on integrating electrophysiologic threshold estimates with intervention and the importance of measuring ear canal acoustics.

Non-electroacoustic and electroacoustic hearing aid selection will be discussed, with emphasis on the Desired Sensation Level (DSL) Method v5.0. Verification of hearing aid performance will be presented in order to highlight pediatric-friendly techniques. An outcome measurement guideline will also be reviewed.
