|Cardiac Issues in the School Setting|
|One school-age student dies every 3 days for sudden cardiac death in the United States according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. A typical pediatric physical does not usually lead to recognition of underlying cardiac conditions or symptoms. This program will address common cardiac conditions and how they can contribute to sudden cardiac arrest. It will also identify strategies that schools may implement to improve cardiac arrest survival. |
