Grand Rounds: Prognosis, Truth Telling, Hope - Ethical and Practical Issues

Overview:
Dr. Fine will describe how to deliver bad prognostic news with truth-telling and hope.   

Learning Objectives:
  1. Explain to colleagues the ethical importance of truth-telling, and in so doing help break the conspiracy of silence in the setting of bad news.
  2. Define prognosis and explore one’s own feelings and attributes as a prognosticator.
  3. Outline an evidenced based strategy for delivering bad news with hope.
