Overview:
Dr. Donald Null will discuss the use of nitric oxide in treatment of hypoxic respiratory failure in neonates.

Learner Objectives:
  • Describe Hypoxic Respiratory Failure (HRF) in term and near-term neonates including the physiology and pathophysiology commonly seen.
  • Discuss the role of inhaled nitric oxide in the treatment of hypoxic respiratory failure
  • Explain the indication, contraindications, precautions and warnings when nitric oxide is used for treatment of HRF in the neonate.
